Video: What’s the use of kidneys?

These two magical beans in your body filter all kinds of waste out of your blood and transfers it into urine. The body’s eight litres of blood pass through the kidneys 20 to 25 times a day, which means that the kidneys filter about 180 litres every 24 hours… wow.

If you drink a lot, the kidneys release the surplus water into the urine – which means that you will have to run to the toilet. On the other hand, if your urine is very yellow, it means that you didn’t drink enough recently; so the kidney can’t release enough water into the urine.
